CONCEPT

My inspiration came from a familiar place, the beach. Ohwiro Bay in Wellington is a place I've substituted for the beach I've grown up on my entire life. It may not have as much sand or warm weather to sunbathe in, but it has the smell of salt, the sounds of crashing waves and the seagulls that crow. It still has that sense of returning to nature and freedom, escaping form the fast life, it still takes the big picture of life down to the simplist needs for survival.
I want my collection to reflect this beautiful cocoon of nature that's hidden beyond the compacted mess of buildings, trash and people. I want it to reflect basic, unmaterialistic needs of our being and represent the freedom from the fast life.
